Paediatric First Aid
Our two main first aid courses for the workplace are the one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid and the two-day Paediatric First Aid courses.
- Emergency Paediatric First Aid – suitable for nannies, parents/grandparents or those within Early Years who are working as part of a team with other staff.
- Paediatric First Aid – EYFS compliant and meets Ofsted registration requirements.
Emergency Paediatric First Aid
The Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who care for children and infants. The course focuses on emergency situations that may face those looking after babies and young children. This first aid qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to gain the knowledge and skills required to enable them to provide effective emergency first aid. It is intended for learners such as parents and relatives, pre-school or nursery staff, toddler group volunteers, childminders and nannies, au pairs and foster parents, or anyone who must deliver first aid as part of their role in either childcare settings or a domestic environment.
If you are required to meet the First Aid criteria of the Early years foundation stage (EYFS), you will need to acquire the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Qualification.
Our Emergency Paediatric course meets all criteria set out by the Health and Safety Executive and in accordance with the UK Resuscitation Council guidelines on treatment.
Paediatric First Aid
The 2-day level 3 Paediatric course focuses on emergency situations that face those looking after young children and infants. This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children.
This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry and it meets the requirements for first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage. This paediatric first aid course meets the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register requirements.

Assessments:
Both qualifications are valid for 3 years and is specifically designed for individuals who wish to become the first aider in their workplace or those already appointed and needing to requalify.
Each learner is continually assessed throughout and must demonstrate competence in all the assessed skills to gain certification. Learners will also be required to pass a multiple-choice question test at the end of the course.
Certificates:
Successful learners that complete the training will receive a certificate that is valid for three years.
