About Us

All activities advertised on our website are operated by Optimal First Aid Ltd.

Optimal First Aid Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 13293924.

By booking you hereby agree to be bound by these terms and conditions set below. 

 Booking notice and payment

Payment in full is due at the time of booking for all open course bookings following return of the completed booking form. Your place is not confirmed until full payment is received.

Private courses will be invoiced for the course fee on confirmation of booking, following return of the completed booking form. The course booking is not confirmed until full payment is received, or a purchase order is raised. If booking within 4 weeks of the course date, the full payment is required to secure the course booking.

Late payments on the balance will be charged at 8% plus the Bank of England’s base rate of the total cost per day past the due date.

Invoices

The invoice will outline the payment details and will be payable within 14 business days of issue.  Once you receive the invoice it is your responsibility to check the details are correct.  If any details are incorrect you will need to notify us immediately for this to be rectified.

Online booking – Card payments:

Online card payment bookings for open courses have the price stated on the advertised event.

By using “Book Now” the client will be directed to the online booking system. After the card payment has been authorised, the client will receive confirmation and joining instructions. Prices may vary depending on course and venue.

Booking form or email request:

Clients who wish to pay by invoice will need to book via the booking form or email a request for a specific course. Please note that by completing and submitting the booking form does not constitute as confirmation that a place/s have been reserved. Clients will be required to make payment once the invoice has been raised or to have agreement in writing that they have raised a purchase order to cover the cost/s of the course prior to attending the course.

Cancellation or postponement by us:

Optimal First Aid Ltd reserves the right to cancel or alter the dates or provision of service, the venue and the individual or organisation providing the service.

You are entitled, if applicable, to be refunded by Optimal First Aid Ltd for the non-performance except where:

  • The activity is cancelled because the number of persons who agreed to take it is less than the minimum number required, and you are informed of the cancellation in writing 7 days prior to your activity,
  • The activity is cancelled due to a reason of unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control including sickness.
  • Optimal First Aid Ltd will not be held responsible for any interruptions to any activity caused from illness, weather, strikes, war, terrorism, political events and any other circumstances clearly beyond our control.

Optimal First Aid Ltd do however reserves the right to cancel the dates or alter services, other than in accordance with paragraphs above but will endeavour to give as much notice as possible. In the event of a cancellation Optimal First Aid Ltd will try and transfer the booking to the next mutually convenient date unless the client states otherwise. 

Cancellation by client:

Cancelations must be made in writing by email to info@optimalfirstaid.co.uk

If you must cancel:

  • If the cancellation is made at least 28 days before the date of the course 90% of the fee will be refunded.
  • If the cancellation is made 27 – 15 days before the date of the course 40% of the fee will be refunded.
  • 14 days or less no refund will be made. No transfer will be offered.

Non-attendance for any reason: If you do not attend the course on the date that you booked you will not receive a refund and your place will not be transferred to another course date.

Non-Transferable

Client must ensure that at the time of booking they are able to attend the course they have booked, Optimal First Aid Ltd are not able to transfer bookings to other dates.

If you do not attend a course the full course fee remains payable.

If you arrive late for a course, or are absent from any session, we reserve the right to refuse to accept you for training if we feel you will gain insufficient knowledge or skill in the time remaining.  In all such cases, the full course fee remains payable. 

Changes by Us

Any additional expenses due to alterations shall be borne by each person participating in the course.

We will not be liable to pay any compensation or incidental costs or expenses that you may incur as a result of any alterations to your course or for any other loss or damage howsoever caused arising out of such alterations. We recommend that you take out appropriate insurance, which includes cover against such costs, expenses, losses or damage.

Property of activity

Any equipment and training materials supplied by Optimal First Aid Ltd remain the property of Optimal First Aid Ltd, apart from free issue course notes and other such material, which will be clearly identified. All such material is copyright and no copying or publishing of any part of it is permitted without the written permission of Optimal First Aid Ltd unless stated otherwise.

In house courses – at client’s venue

Optimal First Aid Ltd are not responsible to close down and lock the venue used. There will be a responsible person to ensure that the venue is secured once activity is finished. Optimal First Aid Ltd will not be responsible for the cleaning of the venue used. Optimal First Aid Ltd will not provide lunches or refreshment.

 Insurance

Optimal First Aid Ltd carries public liability insurance to a limit of £2,000,000.00 for any one incident. All property provided by and used by Optimal First Aid Ltd on courses is insured against accidental damage. The client is required to ensure any personal equipment used for In-house training against accidental damage.

Health and safety

The Client is required to ensure compliance with any Legislation, Regulation, Code of Practice or Guidance laid down by the Health and Safety Executive with regard to the suitability of premises provided for courses at a client provided venue. Optimal First Aid Ltd will request details of the course venue (e.g. training room size) before course confirmation.

Optimal First Aid Ltd has produced full risk assessments pertaining to training courses that they undertake, and all instructors undertake a risk assessment of at all venues. Where appropriate, delegates will be advised of any possible hazards which may be present during training and procedures they should adopt to eliminate or minimise the risks pertaining to the hazards.

Certificates

On completion of both practical and theory elements learners will receive an E-certificate via email, please note that this will follow our quality assurance checks and could take 1 – 2 weeks. On occasion there may be a longer period due to quality assurance checks from our awarding organisation.

Identification

Please bring I.D, when undertaking a regulated qualification with Qualifications Network learners are requested to provide at least 1 form of photo I.D. Learners can not be registered without showing photographic identification.

Arrival time on courses

Please arrive on time as the requested time stated on the joining instructions. This is to give you time to complete any paperwork before the start of your course.

Late arrivals

If a learner fails to arrive for the course at the correct time that is clearly stated through joining instructions and course booking conformation Optimal First Aid Ltd reserves the right to refuse registration for the course or to continue the course as per the regulations set by the awarding organisation. The booking fee and cost is non-refundable.

If you are going to be late, please contact us immediately. Please note that on the day of the course we may have limited or no phone signal.

It is important that learners arrive at the time to the scheduled course start time to allow for enrolment and pre-course documentation. Late arrivals may be refused admittance.

Health, fitness and behaviour

Any client suffering from any mobility impairment, illness or disability or is undergoing treatment for any physical or pre-existing medical condition should declare the true nature of such condition at the time of booking.

As per the accredited guidelines, learners must be able to complete 2 minutes of CPR at floor level to pass the assessment.

If in the sole opinion of the instructor you are unable to keep up with or participate in the course or your health, fitness or behaviour may compromise your safety or the safety of others on the course, you may, in the absolute discretion of the course leader, be removed from the course (and, if necessary, this may be against your will).

In such circumstances, you will not be entitled to a refund and we will not be liable to pay any compensation or incidental costs or expenses that you may incur as a result of such removal or for any other loss or damage howsoever caused arising out of your removal.

Updating of these Terms and conditions

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. It is your obligation to periodically check these Terms and Conditions for changes or updates. The date provided at the beginning of these Terms and Conditions is the latest revision date. Changes to these Terms and Conditions will become effective upon such changes being posted to this website. Your continued use of this website following the posting of changes or updates will be considered notice of your acceptance to abide by and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
